Shield Indemnity, Incorporated (“the Company” or “Shield”) is a member of the Universal Shield Insurance Group (USIG) that includes Universal Fire & Casualty Insurance Company (UFCIC). USIG was formed by a merger of UFCIC and Shield in December of 2021. Shield is a wholly owned subsidiary of UFCIC. USIG targets small businesses with $25,000,000 or less in annual sales and less than 50 employees that are well managed. We seek retail and wholesale operations, small service contractors, office exposures, rental housing with 10 or fewer units, and specialized service businesses. USIG offers Commercial General Liability, Property, Inland Marine, Garage/Auto Dealers, Excess Liability, and Surety products.
